Presidential election 2022: Polling concludes, over 99% turnout recorded
Nearly 4,800 elected MPs and MLAs voted on Monday (July 18, 2022) to elect India's 15th President.
The polling, which began at 10 am at the Parliament House and state legislative assemblies, continued till 5 pm.
Out of a total of 4,796 electors in the list of the electoral college for the Presidential Poll, over 99% cast their votes.
According to the Election Commission of India, 100% voting by MLAs was reported from Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, MP, Manipur, Mizoram, Puducherry, Sikkim and Tamil Nadu.

The results will be announced on July 21 and the next President will take oath on July 25 as President Ram Nath Kovind's tenure comes to an end on July 24.
