Manchester united vs  Liverpool

Manchester United will face Liverpool at Old Trafford in its third Premier League fixture this season. The team has lost its first two matches - to Brighton and Hove Albion and, Brentford - and sits second from bottom in the league table.

United is tearing the central defence of Liverpool. This time it is Fernandes who breaks away down the middle. Alisson rushes forward to block the run but only deflects the ball into Elanga’s path. Elanga with an open goal in front of him hits the shot onto the right goal post.

Sublime from Sancho! He gets a pass from the left flank. He fakes a shot which sends Milner flying past. He then turns back to the goal and finds the left corner as Van Dijk can only look at the ball fly past him.

Milner’s header from a corner is going wide but Fernandes attempts to clear just to be safe. He, however, mistimes the hit and the ball is moving onto the goal. Thankfully, for the Red Devils, Martinez is at the line and stops an own goal.

53’ RASHFORD SCORES!!!!! United leads 2-0 Martial wins the ball at the centre circle, and Liverpool is punished for maintaining a high line. Rashford gets in behind and flies past the Liverpool centre-backs. He is one-on-one with Alisson and slots the ball into the net with ease.

56’ United is relentless Rashford attempts a shot through a score of bodies. The ball somehow evades everyone and is headed for the bottom right corner. Alisson is awake and paries the ball out of play for a United corner.

74’ Yellow card for Bruno Fernandes United is building an attack from the right but Fernandes goes down without any contact on a common ball and the referee sees it. The Portugese’s name goes into the book.

Firmino connects from a corner but is way too deep in the box to cause any trouble for de Gea. Too good from Rashford! Marcus Rashford goes past not one, not two, but three Liverpool players. He is in ample space to take a shot but puts too much power behind it. The ball goes just above the cross bar.

81’ LIVERPOOL SCORES! Manchester United 2-1 Liverpool. It is not over yet United fails to clear the ball from the corner and Carvalho is able to find a power driven shot. David de Gea saves it, but Salah leaps to head the rebound into the net. Grab your popcorn folks!
